Government Jobs β†’ UPSSSC Junior Engineer JE (Electrical) Recruitment 2026 (380 Posts): Apply Online Before 27 November
UPSSSC Junior Engineer JE (Electrical) Recruitment 2026 – 380 Posts

TheJobKart brings you the complete details of the UPSSSC Junior Engineer JE (Electrical) Recruitment 2026. The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has announced the Combined Junior Engineer (Electrical) Main Examination, and this is a large opening for diploma holders in Electrical Engineering who have already appeared in PET-2025.

Read the headline figure carefully, because it is easy to mix this up with the Mechanical examination. This post is not about the Mechanical posts. The Mechanical examination is a separate advertisement, 24-Exam/2026, with 1,156 posts, and it already has its own post on TheJobKart. This post is only about the Electrical examination, Advertisement No. 25-Exam/2026, with 380 posts in total.

One important timing point: the notification was released on 12 October 2026, but the online application window does not open until 6 November 2026. The last date to apply and pay the fee is 27 November 2026.

Who Can Apply? Eligibility Criteria

The PET-2025 condition β€” read this first

This is a Main Examination, not a fresh open recruitment for everyone. Only candidates who appeared in UPSSSC PET-2025 and hold a valid PET scorecard can apply. Shortlisting for the Main Examination is based on the PET-2025 normalised score. Candidates with zero or negative PET scores will not be shortlisted, and candidates whose PET result is marked provisional or under investigation may apply provisionally, subject to the Commission’s final decision. If you did not appear in PET-2025, you cannot apply for this examination, even if you hold the required diploma.

Educational qualification

The main qualification for Junior Engineer (Electrical) posts is a 3-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the Board of Technical Education, Uttar Pradesh, or an equivalent diploma recognised by the Government.

Post-wise variations, as reported, are:

  • Junior Engineer (Electrical), PWD and universities following PWD rules: High School or equivalent, plus a 3-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Junior Engineer (Electrical), Directorate of Electrical Safety: Diploma in Electrical Engineering, plus the ability to read and write Hindi in Devanagari script.
  • Junior Engineer (Electrical), UP Rajkiya Nirman Nigam and UP State Construction and Infrastructure Development Corporation: Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Technical Assistant (Electrical), Ground Water Department: 3-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Electrician, UPSRTC: Diploma in Electrical Engineering, plus a valid Electrical Supervisory Licence.
  • Research Assistant, Research Development and Training Institute: Diploma in Electrical Engineering, plus two years of teaching experience.

A preferential qualification reported for most posts is two years of Territorial Army service or an NCC ‘B’ Certificate. This is preferential, not a substitute for the diploma, and candidates should check how it is treated in the official notification.

All essential qualifications and supporting certificates must be held by the last date, 27 November 2026.

Age limit

  • Minimum age: 18 years for most posts, 21 years for Technical Assistant (Electrical), Research Assistant and UP State Construction and Infrastructure Development Corporation posts
  • Maximum age: 40 years
  • Age counted as on: the date set by each department’s service rules, mostly 1 July 2026

Age relaxation is available for reserved categories and other eligible groups under UPSSSC and Uttar Pradesh government rules, and some departments give extra relaxation to their existing regular employees. The exact relaxation and the exact age reckoning date for your post should be checked in the notification, because both vary by department.

Other important conditions

  • Candidates must meet the post-specific eligibility, including any physical or medical requirements, if prescribed for that post.
  • Post preferences matter. The combined examination covers several departments, so select every post for which you meet the qualification and age conditions. UPSSSC will not consider you for a post you did not select in the application form.
  • Only one application is allowed per candidate for this advertisement.
  • Candidates already in government service should follow the rules for informing their employer, as given in the notification.

Salary and Benefits

Pay varies by post, from Level 5 to Level 6:

  • Junior Engineer (Electrical), Technical Assistant (Electrical) and Research Assistant: Level 6, Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 per month. In the older pay-band format this is also described for some posts as Pay Band 2, Rs. 9,300 to Rs. 34,800, with Grade Pay Rs. 4,200.
  • Electrician, UPSRTC: Level 5, in the older pay-band format Rs. 5,200 to Rs. 20,200.

In addition to basic pay, selected candidates are eligible for allowances such as Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance and Transport Allowance, as per Uttar Pradesh government rules and the department concerned. The headline Rs. 35,400 starting figure applies to the Level 6 posts; it should not be assumed for the Level 5 Electrician post in the same examination.

About UPSSSC

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission, based in Lucknow, recruits for Group B and Group C posts in Uttar Pradesh government departments through a two-stage system in many recruitments: the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET), followed by a Main Examination for shortlisted candidates. The Commission publishes advertisements on upsssc.gov.in, and candidates apply through its online portal using their PET registration and One-Time Registration details.

The Combined Junior Engineer (Electrical) Main Examination is one of those Main Examinations. It is not a direct recruitment without PET, and it is not interchangeable with the Mechanical Junior Engineer examination, which has its own advertisement, vacancies and syllabus.

Why This Recruitment Stands Out

For diploma holders in Electrical Engineering, the most important feature of this recruitment is its size and its PET-based structure. With 322 Junior Engineer (Electrical) posts alone, plus 58 related technical posts in the same examination, it offers a much larger number of openings than a single-department JE advertisement.

At the same time, the PET condition narrows the field in a useful way for candidates who already hold a PET-2025 score. If you appeared in PET-2025 and hold an Electrical diploma, this is a Main Examination you can prepare for directly, rather than a fresh preliminary test. The very low Rs. 25 processing fee also removes a common barrier, although candidates should still treat the form seriously, because post preferences and PET details cannot be casually corrected after the correction deadline.
